This is the most significant upgrade to the core application since its original release in 2002.  It is the result of considering user feedback from a variety of marketplaces and has been two years in design, development and testing.


Menu Engineering Module

A Brand New Module to design, cost and assess a variety of Menus using the Dishes already created in your KitMan system.

Different types of Menus are supported including traditional a la carte, buffets and fixed price table d'hôte. This can also be used for menu cycles or schemes of work to plan teaching programmes.

The completed menu can be exported to a formatted Microsoft Word®  file with a single click.  The resulting document can be amended, printed, emailed or published to the web or an electronic display board.

Replacement Products

When a Product is Discontinued, authorised stores personnel can now nominate a Replacement Product from an alternative Supplier in a very simple step.  Different Units of Measure are automatically converted and Products can be replaced again and again.  In a single process old Products are discontinued, all Recipes are updated including costings.  In KitMan Online if a previous order is repeated with a product that has been replaced the new item is automatically selected and the quantity converted without the user needing to do anything.

Synchronisation of Data

If you have a multi-site operation it is now possible to update a single copy of KitMan centrally with Suppliers, Products, Prices, Recipes, Users and much more.  Any additions or changes are automatically copied to individual sites or outlets.  The local copies can still be customised as required including personalised Recipes, Suppliers and Product Lists.

In the above diagram Suppliers update their prices and send them in to our servers. These Price Updates along with any changes to the program are automatically downloaded to a master copy.

This can update specialised versions for Lecturers and Refectories, each with their own specialised Suppliers, Products and Recipes all being updated from a single central point.

Individual outlets can have access to a restricted list as appropriate to the site's requirements.


Departments

We have introduced departments to the Forecaster and Tracker Modules.  This means that within a hotel the bars and housekeeping can utilise the system; in education teaching and commercial areas can use the budgeting modules or other departments such as hair and beauty or flower arranging departments can benefit from a fresh produce procurement system; multi-site operations can also record and share data.  Access to data is strictly controlled; each user is assigned only to their specific department or area of responsibility, however management and administrators are able to see a comprehensive overview and to interrogate individual departments.

Tracking Supplier Invoice Numbers

We can now record Supplier Invoice numbers in the Purchase Tracker and multiple Invoices on one day.  This will mean that all the information you require can be recorded and reported from KitMan.


Faster and more Reliable Backups

Data is compressed before it is backed up with typical backup time reduced considerably  For stores people at the end of a day or Hotel users late at night this means that logging off and going home is much, much quicker.  For other users the occasional interruption during the day is limited to seconds not minutes.

The trial sites have experienced backup times being reduced by up to 80%.


Refectories and Cafeterias

We have devised a specific version for rectory type and retail operations.  This combined with the synchronisation and updating of the SNUPI prices will suit large universities with dozens of different catering outlets ranging from sack bars to fine dining.

snupiThe procedures for updating SNUPI prices has been completed; this will allow member organisations to benefit from these very competitive rates providing automatic price updates.  Locally negotiated rates on key lines can still be updated for participating suppliers.

Increased Security with Easier Configuration

Far more configurable user security plus with the introduction of profiles and groups it is easy to update multiple users in one go.  Individual users can be granted additional permissions as necessary and can have different access rights for each department.

A Brand New Website

This is a forerunner to the major upgrade of our sales website, a support site and a new Chef's Office being prepared over the summer.


Regional Training Seminars

Training will be arranged after the Easter break focussing on Stores Personnel.  The events are regional seminars held throughout the UK and Ireland.
